Making an Interlibrary Loan request

If the Lyman Beecher Brooks Library does not own an item you need for research, teaching, or study, you may request it through the Interlibrary Loan service. This free service allows users to borrow materials from other libraries and receive them electronically through their Tipasa accounts.

Users may request the following items: books/chapters, journal articles, newspaper articles, and magazine articles.

First Time Users

First time users must contact the Interlibrary Loan Supervisor at interlibraryloan@nsu.edu to request a Tipasa account. First time users will receive a response from the ILL supervisor with instructions on how to finish their Tipasa account set-up. You must click the link in the email within 24 hours to be able to set-up the Tipasa account and make an ILL request.

How to Make an ILL Request

Sign into your Tipasa account to submit your request. If you have questions or concerns about Interlibrary Loan, please contact the ILL supervisor by email at interlibraryloan@nsu.edu.

Request timeframe

Under normal circumstances, requests are generally processed within three days. Articles generally take between three to seven days.

Check out period

Users may check out materials for at least a month. Some items may be checked out for shorter time frame.
