This database also includes the Merriam-Webster’s Collegiate® Dictionary.
Credo Reference provides full-text online access to hundreds of multidisciplinary reference book collections, including art, history, law, medicine, psychology, technology, bilingual dictionaries, and encyclopedias through a one-stop search platform. Search results often include articles from a wide array of publications and frequently present subject coverage from multiple perspectives. Using Credo Reference to approach a topic from different viewpoints can be a great way to expand your familiarity with the topic and it can help you develop new arguments and observations for your research.

You will also receive a welcome email from O'Reilly after your first login.
On the O'Reilly home page, there is a search box at the top where you can type in key words, events, topics, titles, etc... You can also browse by "Topics" or "Start Learning" which is divided into "books", "courses", and "answers."
Click on the "Topics" link and in the drop down menu click on "View all topics."
Search for a specific topic using the Topics filter in the left panel.
Then sort your results by format, publication date, publisher, relevance, popularity, rating, and date added.
Save interesting content to your playlist so you can easily come back to it later. The "Add to playlist" button is on the upper left of the item page.
O'Reilly will also list your history on your landing page.

Mintel's Insights: Expert Analysis tab allows you to search across more than 400,000 insights, including observations, reports, and industry and consumer trends. Many of these include linked databooks. By default, Mintel will open insights when accessed from the Lyman Beecher Brooks Library website.
The insights landing page will show you highlighted recent and upcoming insights. The box for each insight will include the title, region, publication date, and a short summary.
You can browse the full insights collection using the filter and sorting options located to the right of the search bar. These include filters for category, region, trend drivers, demographics, special topics, and content types. Results can also be sorted by relevance or recency.
You can also search for specific insights by entering key words in the search bar labeled "I'm looking for..." This will locate any insights which contain your term. Mintel will provide suggested key words as you type your search. You can use quotation marks around a search term consisting of multiple words to narrow your results to this exact phrase or grouping of words.
From your search result screen, you can use the filter and sort options to further refine your results.
Mintel's Analytics: Consumer Data tab allows you to search across more than 2,000 databooks across categories and regions. You can browse and search these databooks by opening the Mintel database and selecting the tab labeled "Analytics: Consumer Data" at the top right corner of your screen.
The analytics landing page will show you the title, region, and publication date of recent databooks. You can browse these titles using the filters on the left side of the screen. These include filters for category, region, survey type, and special topics.
You can also search for specific search terms using the search bar labeled "Find titles & questions." This will locate any databooks which contain your term. You can use quotation marks around a search term consisting of multiple words to narrow your results to this exact phrase or grouping of words.
From your search result page, you can use the filters to further refine your results.
You can also select between viewing search results by report title and by specific questions within a databook. When browsing by question, the title of the report this question is part of appears underneath the question text.
When you open a databook, you will have multiple viewing options based on the data. You can toggle between viewing data as graphs or tables, displaying counts or percentages, and more settings that customize your view.
In some databooks, you can select the button labeled "explore demographics" at the top right of a content square to view the responses to a single question across a selected demographic category.
This screen will open in a new tab. From this tab, use the "Select demographics to include" drop down menu to select which demographics you would like to examine. You can also use the drop down menu labeled "Select a question or demographic to explore" to view a different question's results across your selected demographic(s).
When exploring a databook with a linked expert analysis, you can click "Go to Report" in the top right corner of the screen to view the expert analysis in Insights.
Mintel includes a variety of account tools you can use to stay organized during the research process. You are automatically logged into your account when you access Mintel through OpenAthens.
Favorites
Favorites are a feature you can use to save reports in Insights to your Mintel account. To add an insight to your favorites, click the star icon next to the title of a report.
Once you click the star icon, you have the option to create a new folder of favorites or to add this material to an existing folder. To create a new folder, click in the box labeled "New Favourites Folder," and enter a title for this folder. Click the "+" button on the right side of this box to create the folder with this insight.
To add to an existing folder, select the title of the correct folder from the favorites menu. Then, click "add to folder" at the bottom of your list of folders.
You can view and edit your favorites folders from the "My Favourites" menu in the taskbar on the right side of your screen. This menu is marked by a symbol of a star in Insights.
Click the title of a folder to view its content. You can also use the pencil button to change the name of a folder, or click the trash can icon next to the name of a folder to delete the entire folder and its contents.
You can click on the title of an insight to open it in a new tab, or click the trash can icon next to remove it from this folder. You can also remove an insight from your favourites by clicking the star icon again, so it is no longer colored in yellow.
Email Alerts
You can set an email alert in Insights to be notified when a new expert analysis is published related to a search.
To set an email alert, start a search for the terms you would like to start an alert for. Then, click the bell with the words "set email alert" underneath the search bar. This will set the email alert, which is linked to your NSU email address.
You can remove this email alert by clicking the bell a second time. When you are removing an email alert, the bell will be colored in yellow and the text next to the bell will read "Remove email alert." After you remove the alert, the bell will return to grey and the words will change back.
You can also view and modify your email alerts from the "My account and settings" page. You can access this page using the Account Settings dropdown menu.
Then select "My account and settings."
Your saved alerts are at the bottom of your account page. You may need to scroll down to see this content. From the "Manage saved alerts" box, you can modify how often you receive alerts or delete a saved alert.
To modify how often you receive an alert for a topic, click the dropdown menu to the right of the search term. You can temporarily pause email alerts by selecting "none right now," or set these alerts to be sent daily, weekly, or monthly. You can also delete an alert by clicking the trash can to the right of this dropdown.
My Presentations is an account tool across both Mintel Insights and Mintel Analytics that allows you to create custom presentations to organize content from both expert insights and databooks. These presentations are saved to your Mintel account, where you can review, edit, and download a presentation.
To add content to a presentation from Insights or Analytics, click the button labeled "+ Add to Presentation" in the top right corner of the content square. This looks slightly different depending on which content type you are looking at.

Once you click add to presentation, you have the option to create a new presentation or to add this content to an existing presentation. To create a new presentation, click in the box labeled "New Presentation," and enter a title. Click the "+" button on the right side of this box to create the presentation with this content item.
To add to an existing presentation, select the title of the correct presentation from the presentation menu. Then, click "add to presentation" at the bottom of this menu.
You can view, edit, and download your presentations from the "My Presentations" menu in the taskbar on the right side of your screen. This menu is marked by a symbol of a poster presentation in Insights, and a symbol of stacked rectangles in Analytics.

Click on the name of the presentation you would like to download or edit. This will open a preview of your presentation, where you can view each content item included.
You can rearrange content in your presentation by dragging the content items into the order you would like.
To download your presentation, click the "download" button in the my presentations menu. This will save your presentation in .PPTX format, so you can continue to edit this presentation in Powerpoint or present it directly from your download.

You can access these pages on the Mintel platform using the Account Settings dropdown menu.
