How to Cite Sources in Your Research Paper

A guide on how to cite your sources and avoid plagiarism

NLM = Vancouver

Vancouver is a term used to describe the referencing style developed by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICJME). It was established at a meeting of medical journal editors in Vancouver in 1978, which is where the name comes from. It is also known as the Uniform Requirements for Manuscripts Submitted to Biomedical Journals. It is now maintained by the U.S. National Library of Medicine (NLM) and is the citation style used by Medline and PubMed.

NLM and Vancouver styles are generally considered to be the same.
