Dewey

The Children's Library collection at the Lyman Beecher Brooks Library is organized in two formats:

Fiction books are organized by author last name.
Nonfiction books are organized using the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system.

This is a common form of library organization in public libraries, including the Norfolk Public Library system.

The system is dived across 10 top-level categories which are then sub-divided by subject or topic.
