In addition to walk-in assistance at the library services desk on the first floor, librarians are available for appointments either individually or in small groups.

Why make an appointment with a librarian?

• Get help planning your research.
• Learn how to use a specific database more effectively.
• Expand your knowledge of searching for and filtering your results to get better resources faster.
• Identify new resources for your research.
• Find out how to share resources between group members using built in database tools.

Booking in advance can help you get the most out of your appointment by allowing your librarian to perform background research, test specific databases, and collect relevant resources ahead of your meeting.

• Appointments are available to all Lyman Beecher Brooks Library patrons including both Students and Faculty.
• Appointments are usually 30 minutes to 1 hour.
• Please complete schedule your appointment online or contact the library for assistance.

At your appointment, please be prepared to share the following information with your librarian:

• The full assignment including the description and requirements.
• Your topic and/or argument (if chosen).
• An overview of the research that you have done so far (if any) and what resources have you used.
  • Providing samples of resources that you have found useful or not useful can be very helpful.
