OpenAthens is the Lyman Beecher Brooks Library authentication portal that grants NSU students, faculty, and staff access to online resources. In most cases, you will encounter this login screen when you access databases and eBooks through the library website and catalog.
When you sign in to OpenAthens, use the same MyNSU credentials that you use to log into computers on campus and into the MyNSU website. Make sure that you are using only the username portion of your account and do not include the @ symbol or later parts for your email. For example, the account l.b.brooks1938@spartans.nsu.edu would sign in with the username l.b.brooks1938.
After you log in to OpenAthens, you will be connected with the resource that you originally selected.
If you run into problems:
- Double check that your username and password are correct.
- Make sure that you are using links directly from the library website and catalog. Links from Google and general web browsing will not bring up the OpenAthens portal automatically.
- If you receive a notification in the OpenAthens page that your account has been locked, you may have had too many unsuccessful login attempts. This can lock your MyNSU account and will require you to contact the Office of Information Technology for assistance: Client Services - NSU Office of Information Technology
