Guide of the Library's Mac Lab

The library's Mac lab currently has ten iMacs available for students to reserve. After reserving a seat in the lab, stop by the first floor Information desk to check out a keyboard kit (kits include a bluetooth keyboard, mouse, etc.). The iMacs include four USB-A ports, one SD card port, and one lighting cable port. Users can access all programs available to them through Spartan Self-Service as well as Apple specific software like iMovie, Keynote, Numbers, Pages, and more.

Terms of Use

  1. The Mac lab is for academic project development.
  2. The lab is for individual use, one reservation, one person per Mac, no group usage of the lab is possible.
  3. Seats in the Mac lab can be reserved for up to six hours per person, per day—those hours do not need to be consecutive.
  4. The Mac lab is “use at your own risk”, please do not leave personal belongings unattended and be cognizant of rendering or reproduction times as overnight processing is unavailable.
  5. Users must have their Spartan card to check out a wireless keyboard kit and they are for use only in the Mac lab.
  6. There is no printing in the library's Mac lab.
  7. To support an academic work environment please refrain from making or taking phone calls or eating/drinking while inside the lab.
  8. Activity determined detrimental to the function of lab equipment and/or behavior or activities that disturb other users can lead to loss of lab privileges.
  9. To request additional time in the Mac lab, ask at the Information desk before the start of the reservation or contact them by phone 757-823-2418, text (SMS) at 757-230-2015, or online through LibChat to request additional time. Patrons will need to provide their first and last name and Mac lab keyboard kit number for staff to renew the kit.
  10. When finished, please log out of all programs signed into as well as logging out of the iMac.
